You can raise a concern verbally or in writing or ask someone to complain on your behalf with your permission. Please let us know if you need help, an alternative communication format or other reasonable adjustments. Making a complaint is free and will not affect your care or how you are treated.

We will acknowledge your complaint within three working days and aim to provide a full written response within 20 working days of receiving it. We will investigate fairly and explain our findings and any action we will take.

If further investigation is needed we will explain the delay, keep you updated and provide a revised response date. Information will be handled confidentially and shared only where necessary and appropriate.

If you remain dissatisfied you can request a further review. We will explain the escalation options available under our complaints procedures and provide the relevant contact details. Our full complaints procedure is available on request.

Our duty of candour means being open and honest about your care, whether or not you make a complaint. If something goes wrong we'll explain what is known, apologise, offer appropriate support and explain what happens next. Where an incident meets the statutory duty of candour requirements we will follow the required notification and written follow-up process. We record and learn from complaints and incidents to improve our service and reduce the risk of some similar problems happening again.
