PRP Microneedling Peterborough

PRP microneedling Peterborough is a scalp and skin treatment that combines tiny, controlled needles with your own blood’s healing plasma. First, a small amount of your blood is taken and spun to separate the platelet‑rich plasma (PRP). Then, microneedling creates tiny channels in the skin, and the PRP is applied so it can soak in and boost repair.

Key benefits:

• Improves skin texture and tone
• Softens fine lines and early wrinkles
• Helps reduce acne scars and other mild scarring
• Brightens dull, tired‑looking skin
• Uses your own plasma, so it’s natural and well‑tolerated
• Minimal downtime compared to more aggressive treatments

PRP can also be used on the scalp for suitable clients experiencing hair thinning or certain types of hair loss. Treatment may support existing hair follicles, improve the appearance of hair density and encourage healhier looking growth.

The Step-by-Step Procedure

PRP Microneedling

Here’s what to expect from a typical Mobile PRP microneedling session:

1. Consultation
We discuss your skin concerns, medical history, and treatment goals. The procedure, expected results and possible side effects will be explained, and your suitability for PRP will be assessed.

2. Preparation
Your skin is cleansed and makeup is removed.

3. Blood draw & PRP preparation
A small sample of blood is taken from your arm, similar to a routine blood test, then spun in a centrifuge to separate the platelet‑rich plasma (PRP).

4. PRP application and Microneedling
A sterile,  microneedling device is passed over the treatment area,  with the PRP creating tiny channels in the skin to trigger natural healing.

5. Aftercare & results
You’ll receive clear aftercare instructions (gentle cleansing, sun protection, avoiding active products for a few days). Mild redness tightness usually settles within 24 hours, with improvements in texture, tone and radiance developing over the following weeks as collagen is rebuilt. 3 sessions are recommended.

PRP Microneedling Peterborough FAQs

What is PRP?

Common questions about our PRP treatments for skin and scalp rejuvenation.

Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) is a concentrated solution of platelets and growth factors extracted from your own blood. It is used to stimulate tissue repair, reduce inflammation, and promote skin regeneration for a more youthful appearance.

How does microneedling work?

Microneedling uses fine, sterile needles to create microscopic channels in the skin. This process triggers the body's natural healing response, stimulating collagen and elastin production to improve skin texture and tone.

Can PRP be used for hair thinning?

PRP can also be used on the scalp for suitable clients experiencing certain types of hair thinning. It may support existing hair follicles and promote healthier looking hair growth. Results vary and PRP cannot restore hair where follicles are no longer active.

Is PRP suitable for everyone?

No, a consultation and medical assessment are completed before treatment. PRP may not be suitable for people with certain medical conditions, active infections, blood or platelet disorders, or those taking particular medications.

Are there any side effects or downtime?

Temporary redness, swelling, tenderness, tightness or minor bruising may occur. These effects usually settle gradually although recovery varies between individuals.

How many sessions are needed?

This depends on the treatment area, your individual goals and how your skin or scalp responds. A course of three sessions is commonly chosen, followed by maintenance where appropriate. Your personalised treatment plan and session spacing will be discussed during consultation.

What is the aftercare?

Aftercare typically includes not washes or touching face for the first 4 hours and avoiding direct sun exposure for a few days. It is also recommended to avoid strenuous exercise for 24 hours to allow the skin to settle.
